Choosing a flight can be really tough, and even more difficult when you live in a different country(I am French). Visiting the school is the best option but not always possible. My decision was base on reviews on the internet so it is my turn now to leave mine for others.I was free to chose the country and the school so the possibilities were wide.

My training for the PPL is done now so I can say that I made the right decision by Choosing Smart Aviation. This training was done fast and on time, which is very important when you are an international student and plan your trip for the duration of the training.

My First contact with the school was by email and Bartho answered  me right away with all the needed informations. Bartho is a very nice, effective and responsive guy. He takes care of the students from the first contact to the end of the training. He was in touch with me during my training to make sure that everything was as expected. He is a pilot so he knows his stuff.

Aircrafts are new, equipped with garmin touch screen glass cockpit. The school has his own maintenance facility situated at an airport close to Poznan. Aircrafts are flying a lot so they are often going into regular maintenance, hopefully the fleet allow other planes to be available.

Flight instructors are really nice and professional.  they did their best to arrange my training on time. Looks like the relationship between all the FI are friendly and they are always trying to help each other with aircraft’s slot availability. During the PPL training Instructors start to apply and teach you the procedures to be « prepared » for the CPL/IR.

The training is done at an international airport with a control tower which gave me a very good experience and « airline like environment » ( flight plan required, clearance for flight and start, radio communication …). The consequence is that you have to go through a security check before each flight and you need to be with someone with a badge. The ATC is doing a good job to handle the big boys like ryanair, lot, wizzair with the training aircrafts.

I felt that Everyone is trying to make your training as efficient as possible. Thanks to the ladies and guys at the office for dealing with all the paperwork and being available for answering all my questions.

Another positive aspect from my point of view, because this not the case in all flight school, is that you don’t have to pay all the training at once. You can « pay as you go ».

Regarding the weather, I did my training in august-september 2021 so… I will see with the coming winter.

In conclusion, I will continue with Smart Aviation for my CPL-IRME training. Will do a new review once done…

Not school related informations but important one:

  • buses are available almost every 15-20 min (starting at 5am till midnight) from downtown so it is easy to get to the airport at anytime ( city-bike are also available). Finding a place to stay is easy. The school also offers 3 rooms in the old control tower which are situated right between the briefing room and the sim. But I don’t know much because I did not stay there.
  • Poznan is a cool city ( plenty of bars, restaurants)
  • Leaving cost are low compared with other countries ( food are really cheap)
