Took part in a 3 day A-UPRT course.

First day consisted of Ground school with flying in the afternoon. The ground school was superbly taught by two pilots, both with airline backgrounds and one with an extensive career in the RAF! Truly nobody I would rather be taught Upset Recovery by. Having recently completed a type rating on the Boeing 737, I was hesitant to see how much of the course I could relate to on a much smaller aircraft. However the instructors related all the theory to jet aircraft, and used accurate case studies to back up our learning!

The flying sorties were a fantastic experience also. Firstly, I was paired up with another student, who we shared an instructor with. The same instructor was kept over all three sorties to keep consistency. Then we were given a tour of the four pristine T7-Firefly's sitting outside ready for departure. They were serviced immaculately and flew fantastically also. We were also given Bose Headsets to try out which was a fantastic plus point because I was looking at purchasing one at the time!

From the moment myself and my instructor sat in the cockpit, military style formation flying procedures were followed - which is without a doubt the most professionally executed SOPs I had seen in my flight training. Everything from all three planes putting their canopies down at the exact same time to a perfectly executed formation takeoff had me in total awe. The sight of two little yellow aircraft on both of my wingtips had me totally speechless.

Despite all this, the instructor was an expert at being able to keep a relaxed feel to the flight, and I was truly amazed at how much I learned. We were even given a useful airborne demonstration of the AF443 incident, and shown the importance of monitoring instruments during Upset Scenarios.

Its also worth noting, I completed the basic UPRT course at L3 a few years ago, and the difference between the two courses is huge.

Very well done CRM, I am truly impressed with the school, and will recommend to anyone.
