I started the PPL with Aviation South West back in 2018, the completion of my course was in 2021 due to my other school and work.

My overall experience with this ATO is good. The facilities are excellent. Exeter airport where the school has been based is a fully operational international facility with ATC and Radar service. The opportunity to start learning in an aerodrome which has these advantages definitely builds the confidence in students fast and acknowledges them early on to what kind of a world they have taken step into. The chance of communicating with an Air Traffic Controller soon as you step foot into training has a very beneficial side in mastering the subject and also it’s a thrill to operate on the same grounds with commercial airliners. The aircraft type that I completed my training on was a PA 28, the maintenance of the planes I used throughout the course were strictly monitored and kept up to date.

The Instructors are truly great in their experiences and teaching. I always recieved help when I required assistance. My Instructor especially was a good teacher and helped me loads on this course.

Not much to majorly criticise but there was a couple of times when I had arrived for a scheduled exam had to wait longer than the arranged time because of the absence of the examiner.

A good ATO in general, would recommend to anyone who is seeking a career in aviation.
