I had a very enjoyable time at FTE. I was a student from July 2019 to October 2020.

I found the facilities overall were okay. The La Parra campus was very modern so it was a bit of a change moving to the main campus (Building 28) and finding the accommodation was a bit dated, nice to live in but plenty of room for improvement. I also found that the bar was very good and the staff were amazing.

The aircraft themselves were well maintained, very hard to tell that they were old. It was nice that they got retrofitted with G5's as I progressed through the course. I very rarely had maintenance issues with them. The Diamonds were lovely to fly but there could be delays on the twin-engine phase as the aircraft were frequently in for maintenance.

In general, the instructors were very helpful and would accommodate any questions. I had in total about 4 instructors across all phases of flying, very good for continuity but also learning different methods.  Kurt Sawyer is by far one of the better instructors at the school.

For the MCC, I chose the 737 simulator which was very nice to fly and has seat cueing which makes it feel a bit more realistic. The MCC phase was well structured and I enjoyed the whole phase.

Groundschool is very well taught with good instructors who teach how to answer questions properly rather than just teaching answers.

So far, I am still unemployed and I have heard little from the school regarding employment opportunities and communicating with them has been a struggle. However, I feel that given the current circumstances it is understandable.

Overall, I think that the school is one of the best places to go for an integrated course as unlike some other institutions, it is less focused on money-making and pay attention to their clients. I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for an integrated school. It would be nice if some of the older accommodation blocks could be upgraded to be like some of the newer ones.
