Pathway is an excellent ground school to use for completing the ATPL exams. Mostly down to the experience of the instructors - all having backgrounds in aviation themselves in some way. They were always more than happy to take the extra time to explain everything in detail and would offer extra support out of lesson hours. Some subjects (I believe 3 or 4) were left for self-study but even so the instructors were always contactable to go over areas of the subject. They give you free access to an ATPL question bank as well which is very handy.
The school is situated in a building surrounded by other business's. There is a main hub for breaks and can be used at all hours of the day, it's where I spent most of the evenings and weekends and found I was the only one there most of the time. So really handy if you need peace and quiet time away from home environments.
Pathway is in a small town called Rosyth. There isn't exactly a lot in the town but it's just over the bridge from Edinburgh, so it wouldn't be too hard to travel from the city there everyday. I stayed in a rented room in Rosyth, there are plenty of houses around the area that offer the same thing. Overall it's a great location for the quiet of studying and city life for the breaks!
I'd failed a couple of exams previously and went to Pathway to retake and sit the rest, all of them I passed with no problems after this. Would really recommend this school for anyone living in Scotland or someone who doesn't mind staying up there, great school!
