I would really recommend Simtech. After trying to decide where to do my MCC/JOC, the communication from them won it over for me. The course booking process was very easy and they had courses readily available. The only issue was travelling over to Dublin, but that is a very small issue as Simtech organise accommodation and daily travel to your simulator sessions and lessons.
I completed the standard MCC/JOC course in the XJ sim and I was very pleased with the experience. Although the XJ sim does not represent a real aircraft, it is as close as you need. Instructors were very experienced airline pilots themselves. I was slightly apprehensive going into this course as it felt like a huge step up from buzzing around in a C152 after finishing my flight training. But the details the instructors go into to make sure you're understanding everything is excellent. They set me up with a training package which was very handy and had everything needed in there to start the course.
In particular when I finished the course and starting applying for jobs, the staff at Simtech went above and beyond any flight school to help me land my first airline job. I really thank them for a recommendation email they sent to Flybe for me which helped me during my interview. Even so, when Flybe went into administration, they continued to offer their support and help finding a job even though I had not been to Simtech for 2 years. Excellent company.
