As on my headline, EAS BARCELONA it's probably the best ATO in Spain. Basically it works as a airline (or a swiss watch) where EVERYTHING it's focused on making you to get the higuest proficiency, and where as a future pilot you'll start to study under schedules and aviation environtment and "how to" as in any airline you can join after your training. First ATO around to get A-UPRT permit, APS-MCC, first ATO to get official examinations on-site permit by authorities..Really i could not have any "cons": from the very first moment you can see they know about how the business works. The greatest (to me)pro it's to know exactly when you will start and finish EVERY training step during your formation, in the shortest time possible (theory, sim, flight). This ATO it's constantly monitoring your performance, your flight time, your needs, so in the whole time you are there you feel you're not just "paying" but being treated as a member of a team. They are looking for proficiency instead of just allowing the highest number of students at a time, making all the staff and resources can being focused on you better during your training. Constant support from managers to the office staff it's excelent. About stuff: teachers from airline pilots in major companies, doctor, engineers, to firefighter pilots, national aerobatics champions, same as flight instructors with literally decades in experience most of them (not the "quick time building" non-professional instructors just egressed from another ATO). Managers with decades in aviation and pilot training (easy to see just entering from the door). New airplanes (not fresh painted: brand new) very well maintained (i had the pleasure to check it by myself as i've been aircraft maintenance technitian for few years), and if any problem in any airplane is founded you will be not grounded as they don't overbook. Simulators: 2 brand new FNTPII (with the same cockpit you will fly in the real thing), and an A-320 to do APS-MCC.
In my personal case, i did all the CPL,ME,IFR-PBN and VFR-NIGHT in EAS Barcelona and for sure i will do my UPRT and APS-MCC as soon as i could afford. After being in aviation business since 1999 (mechanic, flight dispatcher, fire-fighter crew and lately as a pilot) i've seen lots, and i didn't hesitate in any moment in wich hands i wanted to put my pilot formation. And about my formation cost: it worth every coin it cost: the higuest standard in pilot formation with an average cost.
