This Review Overall Rating

I started studying at Aviation South West in September 2017, and Finished everything there in December 2018, I luckily progressed onto the next part of the course right as the modules were about to start, Generally I think it takes around 15 months to complete normally.

During my time at Aviation South West, the facilities were only really the two buildings both had sufficient briefing rooms, none with a toilet inside and a small separate break room developed towards the end of my training with a fridge, microwave and a kettle. The toilets were shared with the airport in the terminal, which is only a short walk away, about 2 mins. The building for CPL/MEIR training was an older building, and was always cold, but unfortunately after expressing my concerns to Andrew the owner, he explained that he couldn't do any work to that building since it was rented from Exeter Airport, and they wouldn't allow it.

The training however was fantastic, I had Lee as an instructor (Who left shortly after finishing my PPL) who was fantastic, very patient and calm when flying, always had great feedback to give. The ATPL Theory was taught solely by Oscar, who again, for teaching 14 Subjects, he seemed to know every answer to every question you could throw at him, thanks to him I passed all 14 Exams First time! The CPL/MEIR was taught by Mark; mark was by far one of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. I enjoyed every lesson with him thoroughly. His teaching style suited me very well, and the his knowledge passed down through every lesson really helped in the practical exams.

The aircraft that Aviation South West were fairly spread out in age, with some being quite old and other *Relatively* new. All were maintained to a high standard, and generally there was always an aircraft available. More troubles came with the Duchess, which was a bit more prone to having issues, but they were sorted out quickly due to the onsite maintenance across the runway. When issues arose, most of the time I was booked onto another session to cover that one quickly.

In review, Aviation South West are a perfectly respectable school. They offer quality training at reasonable prices. Their instructors have a lot of experience and pass that down during lessons. The facilities are a bit lackluster, although there is everything that you need to succeed.
