From my first point of contact with FPT in Early May, they were fast, efficient and helpful in their provided services, and were fast in securing me a date within only 2 weeks of my intial contact of them. With them, I completed my Advanced UPRT course and also got their help revalidating my SEP rating on EASA by experience signature.
It was great to be back at Brighton City Airport again, my old flying grounds from my Integrated ATPL days pre-Covid.
The UPRT course itself consisted of myself and one other, and it was conducted with two different providing instructors, of whom I'd like to give my commendation to in both cases.
Toby Keeley, who conducted the theory classroom sessions and my first flight with great enthusiasm and experience to share.
Phil Shaw conducted my latter two of three flights, and he also brought a wealth of experience to the table from his many decades of flying experience, and his good-humoured instructing method was a welcome method as we finished of the flying in good time once the weather permitted.
Even on the one day where all our flying got rained and clouded off, the easy-going but focused atmosphere that FPT provided was a joy to be around even when waiting on the ground.
The flying itself was among the best I've ever had for how short the course was, and if you're to ever learn your own limits or what an aircraft flying at the edge of controllability feels like, I would highly recommend Flight Performance for the Advance Upset Recovery training. It is an immense confidence booster, and an indispensable skillset to take away for more than just a course completion.
That I also walked away with an additional revalidation of my SEP rating by their helpful staff was just further confirmation of the fantastic service offered there.
I would recommend FPT to anyone looking add UPRT to their flight training, or for any EASA PPL, Aerobatics or other courses on offer. I certainly will be looking to them in the future for revalidating my FI rating with the seminars they offer when the time comes.
