I went to Sky4U due to good feedback received from a few flight training friends who had been there previously. Sky4U before we attended gave us a 737 CBT with different modules we should go through to have a suitable amount of knowledge for the MCC/JOC.

Our first couple of days were ground school focused with lots of CRM training and 737 basic training to fly the instruments focussing on the use of the PFD and ND displays. This was mostly given to us by an AeroLogic First Officer on the 777. This training was very enjoyable and the instructors we did have had a wealth of experience.

We started the simulator training with the JOC which was very enjoyable and hugely relevant to building a good foundation to go onto the MCC training. In terms of the MCC training I was very impressed with the instructors who a majority of them came from German carriers and had a wealth of experience dealing with CRM and operating the 737.

The facilities itself were brilliant with a very brand new Boeing 737 fixed base simulator situated inside Lufthansa’s Schoenefeld training facility. The complex itself is very impressive and a brilliant place to be during the training.

Sky4U’s communication was brilliant and were able to help us book discounted accommodation at the MEININGER hotel which actually is where the headquarters for Sky4U are. The hotel is reasonably priced with a discounted rooms from Sky4U which were spacious and cleaned every day. There is a kitchen downstairs for cooking and an Aldi literally around the corner to go food shopping which helped keep the cost of eating out all the time down,

Overall I am hugely happy I was able to go to Sky4U and came away with new skills and a very good understanding of CRM.

Situated within a bus ride from Berlin Shoenefeld airport there are a few opportunities to go into Berlin itself which myself and my fellow course mates went into on our last evening.
