There are various entry points into this unique and enriching career path. In the UK there are the RAF, Royal Navy and British Army. In Europe, each country will have its own military forces that provide a route into this type of flying. Whichever force you wish to join, there is a rigorous selection process. This is usually done in elimination stages and will encompass various tests that aim to test your mental, physical and emotional strength and capabilities. From cognitive aptitude tests, to intense fitness cross-country fitness exercises, and extensive medical assessments to leadership and competence scrutiny, only those who show the highest levels of skills, competence and ability will be offered positions to commence training. Here you will undertake flying instruction and other tutelage, providing you with basic and specialist training in your defined field. 
 
For the Pre-Entry requirements before starting the in-person selection stages, you will go through a screening and vetting process to ascertain your eligibility. These include, citizenship and nationality, education qualifications, criminal record screening and medical record checks. Once confirmed that you meet all of the required standards, you will be invited to the next stage in the selection process.
