I used Aviation Southwest to renew my MEIR and MEP as an ex-student. 

Positives

- Felt very safe given the ongoing pandemic, masks were worn by staff and students at all times, temperature checks on entry and regular cleaning of surfaces and interiors of aircraft and simulators. 

- Able to book to a time that suited me, and re-book when I missed slots due to weather/poor time management on my behalf. 

- New simulator location is a better learning environment, even if the entrance and setting (next door to a workshop) is a little un-orthodox. 

- Fantastic customer service, issues resolved quickly and always on hand to offer advice and help with paperwork. 

- Atmosphere even during pandemic is very warm and friendly.

- Instructors still fantastic

Negatives

- It would have been nice to receive some form of briefing package of charts and procedures to revise and study before starting the refresher training. 

- Minor differences in the avionics of the sim and the aircraft.

 

Price wise it felt comparable and around what I was expecting to have to pay.

 

Would come back again if I need to!
