After passing my ATPL theory I was determined I would be going to the United States for my hour building. However, after looking at the costs of flights to Arizona, accommodation, food, car hire and much more, I weighed up how much it would cost in regards to staying in the UK doing my hour building here. I found out about Blackbushe Flying Group through an add in Flyer magazine. After speaking to Dan (the owner of Blackbushe Flying Group) on the phone he was able to make me a deal for the hours I needed and happy for me to come view the hour building aircraft.
I was very impressed with the two Cessna 150s available and within a week I found myself at the controls of the Cessna chalking off the hours I needed. Dan was relaxed with where I could take the aircraft and even allowed me to take to aircraft away from base for a few days to my local airfield Headcorn. I flew all over the country to airfields such as Lands End, Lydd, Gamston and Kemble to name a few.
Looking back on my hour building, it was one of the best parts of my flight training and I am so happy I choose to do my hour building with Blackbushe Flying Group as I was able to save money and have a brilliant customer experience. The aircraft are well maintained as Dan takes great pride in the group and his aircraft.
In the future, once I have more of a disposable income I'd like to return to the group as a paid member and start flying some of the groups complex aircraft!
