I joined Freedom Aviation on one of their hour building trips to Scotland, actually having already gained my CPL (Needed currency). It was without a doubt the most fun I've had in an aeroplane.

The trip certainly pushes your boundaries with different landing strip surfaces, lengths and facilities. Navigating along long legs not avoiding airspace just pushing on through. Proper weather challenges with the emphasis on you making the decisions about how to move on forward.

The aircraft were in spotless condition, hangar stored, cleaned regularly and maintained on site. Interiors are clean and well kept, good avionics including glass AH and HSI - easily the nicest warriors I have flown.

I cannot recommend doing one of these trips for part of your hour building enough, although not necessarily relevant to exam techniques the capacity building and confidence enhancing feeling it gives is well worth the money.

Only downside is the tendency to use a lot of sky demon, which is brilliant if using these trips for building experience for real world flying, but not so good if using this as CPL test practice. Plus if you are looking at your tablet all the time you don't see the awesome views!

Big thanks to Dave, will be back again soon!
